The Endowment Fund

We are committed to the future of theatrical arts in our area by insuring the long-range fiscal security of the company.  10% of all non-allocated donations go directly to our endowment.

We hereby affirm all non-specific donations made to or on the behalf of the Riverfront Theatre will be distributed and segregated for the operation of the Theatre in the following way.

 Ten percent of the monies will be set aside in and endowment fund for the purpose of creating a sustainable income from the endowment to allow operation of the theatre in perpetuity.  The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois will oversee and directly control select and authorize the advisors that invest the endowment funds.  The advisors chosen will exercise prudent investments and have fiduciary responsibility. The board may by majority decision use earnings on principle received from the Foundation as appropriate to sustain the operation of the Theatre. The principle can never be touched except under the following conditions.

1) The Theatre dissolves its incorporation.  In which case the funds will be distributed to any one or more similarly incorporated organization.  The distributions will be determined by majority decision of the last designated Board of Directors upon dissolution and the Trustees of the Community Foundation of Illinois.

2) There is a need to end the current endowment in favor of another endowment vehicle or for purchases necessary to sustain the ability of theatre to remain operational and grow the scope and ability to operate facility or operation. This use of funds for this purpose will be approved by a 3/4 the majority of the Board of Directors.

 
Five percent of non-specific donations will be set aside for operation of community educational related programs as designated and produced by the artists approved to perform at the approval of the approved Artistic Director at the time of the event.

All other funds received may be used for any legitimate purpose in operation of the Theatre.
